Vincent de Boer (WUR-Toxicology) received a Rubicon Award for his research proposal "The role of SIRT4 in aging and energy metabolism".
Aging is a biological process that occurs in every living organism, yet the molecular mechanisms underlying this phenomenon are complex and poorly understood. This research project aims to characterize the biological processes underlying aging, by studying the SIRT4 nutrient sensing protein.
Vincent is spending the next two years at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA
