Course

Microscopy and Spectroscopy in Food and Plant Sciences

EPS-VLAG Course: The course covers a range of advanced microscopic and microspectroscopic techniques, that have a wide range of applications in both the Food and Plant Sciences.

Organised by Graduate Schools EPS and VLAG, in co-operation with Wageningen Light Microscopy Centre and MicroSpectroscopy Centre
Date

Mon 14 May 2018 until Wed 16 May 2018

Wageningen Light Microscopy Centre and MicroSpectroscopy Centre will organize a three-day course on fluorescence imaging. In this course, we will provide theoretical background and give hands-on experience of state-of-the-art microscopy techniques, with support from experts in the field.

The following topics will be treated during the lectures with examples of application in food and plant sciences: Microscopy, fluorescence, confocal microscopy, Förster Resonance Energy Transfer (FRET) imaging, Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM), reporter imaging/ image analysis, 3D Imaging, time- and spectrally-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy, total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) and super-resolution imaging.
