VLAG organises the following general courses:
VLAG PhD week
The VLAG PhD week is a compulsory part of the VLAG education programme and it is specifically meant as an introductory course for freshman PhD candidates.

Philosophy and Ethics of Food Science and Technology
This series of six Thursday afternoon discussion sessions will include hands-on dealings with ethical, philosophical, and societal issues surrounding science.
The 16th edition of this course will take place on six Thursday afternoons in January and February 2021:
21 and 28 January, 4, 11, 18, and 25 February 2021, from 2:30 PM till 5:30 PM.

RMarkdown
RMarkdown is a freely available software program that combines text, statistical analysis, and graphics into one file. Data storage, analysis, and presentation of results (in a paper or presentation) takes places in a single computer program. The goal of this course is to learn basic principles of RMarkdown as a tool for open science. After this course you will be sufficiently equipped to apply RMarkdown to your own research project.
