Based on the recommendations of PhD candidates, below an overview of interesting courses/organizers:

African Nutrition Leadership Programme: The aim of the programme is to assist in the development of future leaders in the field of human nutrition in Africa.

BioSB research School: The courses are part of the BioSB Education programme of the Netherlands Bioinformatics and Systems Biology research school, which offers training and education in bioinformatics and systems biology.

BioTech Delft: BioTech Delft offers several courses in the area of biotechnology (Bioprocess Design, Downstream processing, Microbial Physiology and Fermentation Technology, etc).

The European Federation of Food Science and Technology (EFFoST): EFFoST facilitates knowledge and technology exchange among food professionals. 

The European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL): EMBL delivers a multifaced training programme (courses, conferences and workshops) at the forefront of molecular life science and its applications.

European Nutrition Leadership Programme: The aim of the programme is to assist in the development of future leaders in the field of human nutrition in Europe.

FOOD.KU: FOOD.KU (dept. of Food Science, University of Copenhagen) offers several courses in the areas of Food Chemistry and Food Microbiology.

Han-sur-Lesse Physical Chemistry Winter School: The goal of the winter school is to inform participants about modern aspects of physical chemistry and to promote the distribution of knowledge of new concepts in this field.

Holland Research School of Molecular Chemistry: The mission of the HRSMC is to provide PhD students with high-level educational training. For this purpose they offer a selection of courses; Molecular Modeling, Physical Methods in Inorganic Chemistry, Photophysics, photochemistry and photobiology and Targeted Synthesis Challenges.

The ISEKI-Food Association: The mission of ISEKI-Food Assocation is to support lifelong learning in the food sector.

National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment(INRAe)

Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences (NIHES): NIHES offers a range of courses in the area of epidemiology

NUTRIM: NUTRIM's education revolves almost entirely around training PhD candidates, including Master classes, lecture series, research meetings, symposia and collaborative training opportunities

Wageningen University & Research Centre for Development Innovation: Programme of specialist courses for mid-career professionals partly conducted in the Netherlands and partly in Africa and Asia. The course 'Governance & food safety in international chains' and courses within the 'Secure and Healthy Food programme' might be of interest to VLAG PhD candidates.

Wellcome Connecting Science: courses are aimed primarily at biomedical research scientists, clinicians and healthcare professionals, and provide practical and interactive training in the latest biomedical laboratory techniques and data-analysis tools.
