Nutrition and Cancer: Nutrition after a diagnosis of cancer
Multidisciplinary course ranging from biological mechanisms to observational epidemiology and randomized controlled trials on the topic of nutrition and cancer survivorship

Background and purpose
The topic of this edition of the course Nutrition and Cancer will be ‘Nutrition after a diagnosis of cancer.’ Together with an international panel of speakers and experts, we aim for a multidisciplinary approach ranging from biological mechanisms to observational epidemiology and randomized controlled trials on the topic of nutrition and cancer survivorship. This will be the fourth Masterclass/course on Nutrition and Cancer organized by Wageningen University and VLAG Graduate School in collaboration with WCRF international and the Wereld Kanker Onderzoeksfonds.
The course format is designed to be highly interactive, with ample time for stimulating discussions, interdisciplinary interactions, and meetings alongside the scientific sessions.
WCRF and Wereld Kanker Onderzoek Fonds will award fellowships covering the course fee for 3 to 5 participants. If you want to apply for a fellowship, submitting an abstract is mandatory.
Target group
PhD students, postdocs and other researchers working in the field of, or interested to learn more about, nutrition & cancer (e.g. nutritionists, epidemiologists, health promotors, health professionals, biologists and food scientists).
Course aim
- Learn about various approaches to study the role of nutrition during and after cancer treatment;
- Share the latest insights on nutrition and cancer prognosis;
- Build a network of researchers in the areas of nutrition, lifestyle and cancer.
Course format
The main themes will be introduced by a selected number of invited speakers of international reputation. A significant number of slots will be available for oral presentations, oral flash presentations as well as poster presentations. The posters will be on display throughout the course and a poster session will be organized. The Scientific Committee will select oral and poster presentations based on submitted abstracts. The course venue is one of the Wageningen University buildings on Wageningen Campus, Wageningen, the Netherlands.
The town of Wageningen is 5 km from Ede-Wageningen railway station, with transport options being taxi or bus. Ede-Wageningen railway station is about one and a half hours from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. For train schedules visit: www.ns.nl.

Applicants will be informed of acceptance of their registration before 13 September 2024. They will receive instructions for payment and further course details.
The course fee includes digital learning material, coffee/tea during breaks, lunches and the course dinner but does not cover accommodation. The course fee depends on the participant's affiliation:

In your registration please motivate why you think you are the right person to receive this fellowship (100- 150 words). Deadline for abstract submission and application for fellowship is 1 July 2024. Application is no longer possible!
